Forgotten way of entertainment – Recreational site Podastrana and Sinj sightseeing

1About an hour of driving from Trogir by our air – conditioned vehicle, there is Podastrana, a recreational site which offers a couple of interesting outdoor activities.

One of our activities is rock climbing on the 7-meter-high artificial rock or so-called climbing wall. The rock construction is suitable for all levels of climbers and offers different technical difficulties. Therefore, the participants are free to choose the level they want to try. This type of exercise is extremely useful to improve your body balance. All safety equipment is provided as well as a person securing the climbers while being active on the wall.

After wall climbing, a new challenge is waiting for you: archery. It is an excellent way to relax your body and soul. For this game you need a sharp eye and a steady hand to achieve the best possible result. In case you don´t have it, a desire for having fun is really enough. We are sure you will laugh to tears!

As a part of our offer, there is a short 15 second adrenaline pleasure called zip line. Accept the challenge and try this adventure on this 200-meter-long wire and feel the thrill.

2After this unusual entertainment, the fabulous selection of traditional food in the restaurant situated in a breathtaking position will make your day unforgettable.

Afterwards, we take you to Sinj, the town of Alka and the Croatian famous place of pilgrimage to the Miraculous Virgin Mary.

Alka is a traditional competition, a tournament, where a man, the alkar (the knight) is riding on a horseback and aims his spear at an Alka ring and pierces it.

3Visiting the Alka Museum is the best way to get to know this unusual and unique tradition.

One of the most state-of-the-art museums in Croatia, the Museum of the Alka presents the uniforms, equipment and weapons of Alkars, as well as a full-scale model of an Alkar sitting on a horseback.

Through interactive panels you can learn something about the history of the construction of Sinj city, due to the protection of Miraculous Virgin Mary.

The museum is interesting for all ages due to touch-sensitive screens showing the animated video game Battle of Sinj 1715 and a game of winning the Alka.

4After visiting the Museum you will have enough time to explore the remains of the fortress and the Way of the Cross located on top of a small hill near the city center.

In the city center you can explore statue of Alkar and the Church of the Miraculous Madonna of Sinj or walk through Alkarsko šetaliste (promenade).
